John and I went for a "walk" yesterday. I walked and he used the scooter-and we went to the bank, the library and the pastry shop. All of these places are within 6 or so blocks of our house-it's so cool. That is one of the reasons we chose this house-it's convenience to the fun things in downtown Olympia.
It's been a bit discouraging, with John's disability, not being able to walk like we used to and wanted to continue to. I could go out on my own, and maybe I'll get to that point, but it's a lot more fun with a companion.
I love being able to do things and not use a car. There are so many cars out there, so much metal, which is so unfriendly feeling. I do hope the slow down in the economy will slow down our consumption of not only fuel, but everything else!

yay for spring! you're flowers look great. if we get a little more sunshine, the tulips in the back yard might actually open up.
